Life is Short, Live it Lawn - we need your help!

Hi friends (*updated),

This July 7th marks the beginning of the 3rd annual Vancouver Leisure Society's Lawn Bowling Tournament and guess what? Thuggies has a team. Bryan is creating some team uniforms as we speak, and we expect they will be spectacular. The tournament is in honour of our friend Eva Markvoort, who passed away last March after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. We try and keep things lighthearted in the Why Not Apparel Inc. world, but we also want to start incorporating charity and philanthropy in our organization. Cystic Fibrosis is a cause very near and dear to us, and Eva was a close friend to Bryan and I. And so: we bowl. Lawn bowl, to be precise. Last year the tournament raised over $34,000 and this year we hope to hit $40,000. All profits go to cystic fibrosis research towards Eva's dream of "CF" standing for "cure found". If you please, we need your help. Any donation helps, and if it is over $20, you will receive a tax receipt. We are 36% of the way there! Help us crack 100%! We may even auction off our VLS Thuggies made of bamboo fabric and magic.

Fun fact, the whole reason Thuggies started is I saw Bryan's team wearing the yet unnamed Thuggies, the originals that got the bowl rolling (see what I did there?). So it's even more meaningful that this year we have our own Thuggies team and we're keeping the legacy going.

To donate, click here. To read some of Eva's online journey with the disease, click here If you can't donate, please feel free to spread the word about the tournament and about cystic fibrosis. It is the most common, fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. There is no cure for cystic fibrosis. So help us change that, would you?

extra thugs&kisses,

Kim
