Here at Why Not Apparel, one of our main objectives is to donate to many local charity causes and have fun doing so! This coming Sunday, May 16th, Thuggies will be sponsoring/attending the F.A.C.E.S Charity Car Cruise to Mount Baker. This is our first ever charity event and we look forward to doing so many more! The 3rd annual Mt. Baker Spring Cruise is put on by dedicated VW drivers throughout the Pacific Northwest, which welcomes all vehicles to come join and enjoy a barbecue at the top of Mount Baker.
The meet starts at Bellis Fair at 9 am with plans to leave towards mt baker at 10 am. Once at the top there will be a raffle where aside from the possibility to win a thuggie, there will be many prizes from H&R Springs, SK Motorsports, and Roger Jobs Audi, VW, Porsche.
Thuggies will also be available at the event, for a minimum donation of $60, this will give $5 dollars per thuggie sold to F.A.C.E.S. Anything over $60 given to thuggies will aslo be directly donated! Look for the Old Man Green Thuggies Wagon to try on the latest colours and get your own thuggie while supporting a great cause!
We invite everyone to join. Either meet us there or if you’re leaving from Vancouver and want to roll thuggies style we’ll be leaving with 3 cars around 7 am, shoot us an email if you want to meet prior, if you dont have a car but want to come we have space!

This past Saturday, May 1st, a couple aquatic members of the Thuggie team headed out to support the National Malibu Demo Day with performance watersports in Surrey. Although the weather wasn’t perfect, good times were had! Towing 5 boats to Cultus Lake made for quite a scene on Highway 1. We launched the boats and cruised around Cultus Lake in the new Malibu Wakesetter, and Axis lineups, including the Waksetter 24’7. The day was awesome!
Thuggies were out in full force and kept the team warm especially while cruising at top speed in the Corvette Boat by Malibu. Big thanks to Craig and the whole crew at Performance and Ivan at Wakeguide! The lackluster weather did nothing to stop the boys from having a sweet time out on the water enjoying the speed and ease of the topnotch boats. Our diehard water enthusiasts made the most of the day, hotdogging around the water and overall getting stoked for the coming summer months! After all, Thuggies are the ideal on boat changeroom + coziest thing you can put on post wakeboard!
So I went to a baby shower on Saturday. I don’t spend a lot of time in the presence of pregnant women but it was for a dear friend who is arguably the cutest pregnant woman that has ever walked the earth. I was excited to go support her and also to give her the gift of a lifetime: the first ever Thugglet. B-ry sewed it up with loving care, aided by our dear friend (and favourite Australian) Felicity Clark, who is an award winning designer and all around babe. They brainstormed the best possible mechanics of the garment, taking care not to have anything on it that could harm or choke the lil’ thug. Et viola: the Thugglet was born.
We’re open to suggestions for colour combos but right now we’re thinking baby blue and pink combos, maybe some yellow and definitely some green. Parents will delight in the ease in changing diapers and other fun things as there are no pants to remove, no buttons to snap, simply lift and you’re there.
If you think you’ve seen anything cuter, please let us know because a group of discerning women and everyone who has laid eyes on this little masterpiece beg to differ. Viva la pantsless revolution.
The original one and only Thugglet
Oh hello! Today is Earth Day and let it be said that at Thuggies.ca we are very, very pro-earth. Our product is made locally and was designed by locals, out of a desire to be comfortable while mocking probably locals at Whistler. Anyways. I know these posts have been really Whistler oriented so I’m going to mix it up a bit, but not so much as to scare you or offend anyone at Whistler in anyway, so I’ll still talk about Whistler.
Tomorrow I am going straight from my office (I know, a Thuggier works in an office? Let’s all help change that, k?) and onto the most beautiful highway ever, pop in to see my brother and his INCREDIBLY TALENTED girlfriend who also happens to be….drumroll please…our OFFICIAL Whistler sales rep! She is heaven. Heaven!
Anyway. Then I will stop at the Pony Espresso and watch the Canucks game by myself (totally not weird. Right? Right guys? That isn’t weird is it?) then off to Lillooet Lake for the night. Then back to Whistler with Biz to slang some new Thuggies stuff. Keep your eyes open for us, people are already starting drinking games about who spots us first (you know who you are) and if you see us say hi and take some pictures! We’re VERY photogenic. Then back to the best city in the world and there we be!

Bryan is currently in Whistler but he’s not taking my calls as he’s having too much fun at the Coors Light VIP tent. If you see him tell him to stop screening my calls.
Despite the rain on Saturday spirits were high in Whistler during the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Fest. The pinnacle day was Sunday when we did a small, understated crawl through the Village in our Canadiana Thuggie. It was awesome to see the admiring glances of people as we passed by and I even met Amber Turnau who I’d been tweeting with all week. She does the PR for Whistler Blackcomb and it was a delight to put a face to the Twitter handle. Because she spotted us first she won a contest with her friend Mike and I will just have to assume he honoured the bet and bought her lots of beer.

It was exciting to be up in Whistler again with the sun shining and the patios full and has all of us at Thugquarters really exciting for the summer to come. We’re equally excited to be partnering up with Wakeguide who will be repping us on the water. Thuggies double as portable change-rooms so they’ll be popping up on lakes all over BC.
